Do you have what it takes to be a member of the Oaky Woods Tactical Hog Control Unit ("OWTHCU")?

  • Are you afraid of things that go "bump" in the night?
  • Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hunt without a tree stand, a hunting blind or even a vehicle?
  • Do you think you can get within 20 feet of a hog without spooking him with your scent?
  • Do you believe in Bigfoot or Sasquatch?

If you answered yes to any of those following questions, then becoming a member of the OWTHCU may be the first step in becoming a Night Hunting Warrior!

The rules are simple.

  1. You are allowed to hunt with any weapon.
  2. One Shot, One Kill (Especially for anyone hunting with ARs or other semi-automatic rifles).
  3. If you shoot and miss, your hunt is over for the evening (You may try again another night).
  4. You must hunt without the aid of a tree stand.
  5. You may not use a pre-manufactured hunting blind.
  6. You may use a chair and cover yourself with camo netting or camo blind material.
  7. You may simply hide in some bushes or sit on the ground or lean against a tree or any combination.
  8. You must remain in the woods alone.
  9. The duration of the hunt must be from 11pm until 6am or until you have killed a hog.

Does this sound like something you can do?  Still a "Scardy Cat"? If you are interested but don't feel you are up to the challenge just yet, ask another OWTHCU member to take you along for a hunt one night and see what it's all about!

It is important that we clarify, the Oaky Woods Tactical Hog Control Unit is not about going into the woods and riding around in shoot-em up style.  It is about enjoying the art of stalking your prey and practicing the discipline of "One Shot, One Kill".  We encourage anyone to give it a try and welcome folks of any gender and all age groups.  Everyone is afraid of something...
